Greetings, I know it has been a LONG time since I updated anything. In truth, I have not had that much TO update. My time is taken up mainly with my real horse and I have had little time for artwork. The model horse commissions have slowed down to a bare trickle and nearly dried up, which I am more or less OK with. In reality, I don't have the time to do much, though with it being winter now and getting dark so early, I do have some time in the evenings after the barn.
You will be surprised to know that I have nearly completely gotten out of the model horse hobby on the terms of showing my custom models. I don't have the time or money to devote to it, and the real thing is by FAR superior to the models and takes all of my spare time and money. Equus keepus brokus is, after all, their little known and most accurate scientific name. I have undertaken to begin showing my Quarter Horse gelding, Sonny, in Hunter/Jumpers and combined training as well as training him to drive eventually and he has started his career as a SCA mount for my boyfriend. Sonny seems to fit perfectly into his new role as a hunter, placing very well at his first shows.
My mare, Fatima, has matured into a beautiful beast and has shown well in local shows both in gaited classes and speed events. She has become the center of my other passion, riding aside. After much searching and frustration, I have finally found a saddle that fits us both and it is a wonderus thing. I show her aside as well as compete in SCA equestrian events sidesaddle.
Life is good right now. Not a lot of art, but still good.
